John Turturro is an American actor, born in New York in 1957. He studied drama at Yale School of Drama and is a very reknowned actor in Hollywood. Turturro has a few favourite directors that he likes to work with again and again. He can be seen in nine Spike Lee films and has also worked with the Coen brothers on several occassions. One of these was when he played Jesus with a penchant for the colour purple in the 1998 film "The Big Lebowski". Turturro is also talented behind the camera. He wrote and directed the film "Romance & Cigarettes" in 2005. Turturro has his own production company, called Humperdink Productions.
